Antanas Seikalis : The book of “prayers of hope”

While in the Steplag in Kazakhstan, Antanas Seikalis wrote and bound 100 copies of a book of “prayers of hope”. “Praying was a moral defence,” he said in the interview; praying together in secret was an important moment of sharing and solidarity in community life in the labour camps. A copy of the book is displayed at the Museum of Genocide Victims in Vilnius, Lithuania.
